The prominent silver and red 'nismo' logo adorns a high gloss finish Dry Carbon Fiber* insert on black textured plates. They fit directly in place of the originals and require no special tools to install (trim clip and panel removal tools are the most you should need). Installation typically only takes a few minutes. Sold as a pair. Also known as Sill Plates or Threshold Plates. Gloss finished carbon fiber pairs especially well with high gloss paints, wraps, and coatings, but also creates an interesting contrast with low and semi-gloss style finishes (such as flat, matte, and satin). The pictures don't do justice to the great, gloss look of the carbon fiber in person; they look great! Application Note: These kick plates were originally made as direct fit replacements for 370Z models, which is reflected in the overall design (the carbon fiber section is very similar in shape to 370Z original plates). Regardless of origin, these fit surprisingly well with New Nissan Z® models, and are especially well suited to both factory Nismo 370Z and factory Nismo Z® models. *Carbon Fiber Note: The carbon fiber inserts on these plates are made using "Dry" carbon fiber, which refers to the manufacturing process of the carbon fiber and not the finish (notably it is how the resin is applied to the part). Traditional "Wet" carbon fiber uses standard carbon fiber material that is manually infused with liquid resin when a part is being produced; newer "Dry" carbon fiber is pre-impregnated with resin that is "dried" without curing, then undergoes several processes during part manufacturing. While drastically more expensive, the "Dry" process generally results in stronger or lighter parts with more uniform appearance. Both manufacturing types can be finished in flat, matte, satin, or gloss (these plates are finished in very high gloss). NISMO Products: Unfortunately, we have seen a rise in imitation parts being sold as Genuine NISMO items. The Genuine NISMO Carbon Fiber Door Kick Plates are especially unique in that they are a product of Nismo Japan. While not every Nismo or Nismo Japan product includes one, every set of these plates includes a certificate of authenticity (note that the certificate is in Japanese), along with the installation instructions.
