These filters are designed with an integral velocity stack and attach to polished aluminum "long" tubes. Replacing the factory intake tubes adds additional horsepower (see the dyno results), and a great look for the engine bay. The filters are positioned in custom urethane intake boxes, which keep hot underhood air from entering the intake system. This creates a direct cold air path, as they can only draw on cool air from behind the front grille, creating maximum performance gains (unlike some "cold air" systems which only partially shield the filters). The intake boxes can be left natural black, or painted to match the color scheme of the car/engine bay. Because of the design, the intake sounds relatively mild under cruising situations, but under acceleration creates an impressive intake note you'll have to hear to appreciate.
