Description:Includes: (1) Roller Pilot Bearing Description: This Nissan Competition (originally Datsun Competition) part is designed to reduce drag in racing applications when the clutch is disengaged, resulting in quicker and smoother clutch operation. Roller Pilot Bearings last longer than bushings with proper care and maintenance; however, they need to be serviced more often than a standard pilot bushing. The bearing should also be thoroughly inspected for damage (and replaced if any signs of damage are present) with every clutch replacement. The Pilot Bearing is an important piece when it comes to proper operation of your manual transmission Z. It both supports and aligns the Transmission Input Shaft while also allowing the engine crankshaft and trans input shaft to rotate at different speeds when the clutch is disengaged. A worn bearing may show no signs other than excess noise or vibration. A failed bearing can damage the input shaft and lead to several problems, such as the clutch seeming to not disengage, the trans popping out of gear, or even catastrophic trans failure. Note: We do not recommend using this bearing on street applications. Roller Pilot Bearings need to be serviced regularly, which requires removing the transmission in order to inspect the bearing.
