Upgrading to 5 clutches, 4 steels, and 2 pressure plates allows the transmission to handle high horse power levels, the more clutch surface in a transmission, the power it will withhold and the longer it will last. Now to break down each part of the 5-pack Overdrive assembly; firstly the clutches are Raybestos stage 1 clutches, designed to handle higher temperatures, withhold more power, and increased longevity. The steels are newly stamped OEM steels, the pressure plates are machined out of new OEM pressure plates machined down to .275″. The upper pressure plate being an advantage comparing to using a steel allows more pressure to be applied. The lower pressure plate allows the fitment of the entire assembly. The Machined Overdrive Piston allows the OEM tolerances to be used all awhile fitting in a 5-pack Overdrive.
