Description E-Jen brining & fermentation container is a generous sized tub for making kimchi, sauerkraut and pickles. It is used widely in Korea, and incorporates the ancient Korean principle of ‘onggi’ – breathable earthenware. The E-Jen Brining & Fermentation Container is available in three sizes: 1.7L – 19 x 17 x 12cm 3.4L – 22.5 x 20 x 15.5cm (as seen in our video!) 8.5L – 30 x 22.5 x 22cm Like the traditional earthenware, the tub has fine pores which allow for optimum air flow. The plastic is mixed with a natural clay, to create this unique environment. Plus, the inner vacuum lid keeps vegetables and cabbage submerged in pickling liquid, so you no longer need a heavy weight to press the top of your fermenting kimchi or sauerkraut. Easy to clean, the E-jen also locks in any natural odours while your pickles ferment. So you can leave your kimchi to develop on your kitchen counter. While you’re not fermenting, you can also use this airtight container to store coffee beans, bread or anything that needs to be kept away from the atmosphere.
