Includes: (1) Medium Duty Deck Lid Support Description: A failing deck lid support can be quite the inconvenience. These shocks are designed to hold the rear tailgate in the fully open position while you access your cargo inside the deck area, as well as make lifting the deck lid easier. As they wear from age and use, the supports can struggle to keep the deck lid open. One side may sag a little at first, or the entire deck may slowly droop down. Eventually, this situation can lead to injury as the shocks wear even more, ranging from a banged head from an unexpectedly low hanging tailgate to much more significant hand, head, back, or any other body part struck by a deck lid suddenly collapsing. Fortunately, replacement is simple and should only take a few minutes. This quality replacement tailgate shock fits on either side of coupe model rear deck lids. Sold individually; 2 required per car. For models that originally came with the small "lip" style spoiler installed from the factory, or models that have already had a spoiler and Medium Duty supports installed*. Note: If your deck lid does not "pop" up when using the opener, these supports are most likely not the source of the issue. 350Z and newer models use "spring bumpers" to help cushion the tailgate on closing and provide that initial opening. These are also prone to wear over time; see 34-1160 in Related Items for replacements. *Deck Lid Spoiler & Accessory Note: This replacement deck support is intended for use on models that already have a rear spoiler installed. They will physically fit on 350Z coupe models without a spoiler installed; however, the tailgate will be more difficult to close without the extra weight of a spoiler. Additionally, this support is not suited for the large spoiler found on 07-08 Nismo models, or any similarly sized rear deck spoiler. For other deck lid accessories, such as rear window louvers, you will need to consider the combined weight of the installed components to determine whether the medium or heavy duty supports are best for your application.
